Overview

The Landscape Design Professional position serves as an entry-level role for new or recent graduates, designed to build a strong technical foundation and develop an understanding of the profession and project processes. This role involves learning architectural principles, collaborating on project components, gaining exposure to industry standards and contractual relationships, and supporting the design and construction phases through research, data analysis, and documentation.

Parkhill is one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the Southwest. We have 13 offices located throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a fundamental understanding of projects and the inter-relations of components required for execution
  • Understands and adheres to Parkhill CADD standard quality and accuracy
  • Collaborates with other team members to prepare information regarding materials, colors, equipment, and products
  • Learns and understands Parkhill requirements for proficient use of design software
  • Gains exposure to contractual documents, relationships and project processes between the firm, other team members, the client and the construction industry
  • Explores the profession and gains fundamental understanding of project processes through:
    • Assisting in research and the preparation of studies and reports
    • Collecting and analyzing relevant project data in design of projects
    • Assisting in field surveys
    • Preparing scale drawings and documents
  • Assists with preparation of Opinions of Probable Costs (OPC)
  • Assists in construction phase services Square 1 (QA/QC)
  • Assists with cross discipline checks and coordination

Qualifications

  • Professional degree from a NAAB, LAAB or CIDA accredited program and eligible for licensure in the state of Texas
  • The ability to apply architectural principles as appropriate for project design
