Overview

The Certified Construction Manager role manages Resident Project Representatives and document control specialists while overseeing project scope, fees, schedules, and construction progress on municipal and FAA Part 139 Certificated airport projects. Responsibilities include reviewing project materials, ensuring compliance with drawings & specifications, conducting on-site testing, and coordinating solutions for construction deficiencies. This is a full-time, exempt position paid on a salary basis.

Responsibilities

  •  Manages Resident Project Representatives and document control specialists
  •  Develops scopes, fees and schedules for professional service contracts
  •  Attends, and may conduct, project progress meetings and prepare minutes of the meeting
  •  Observes work in progress to determine if procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications
  •  Reviews drawings and specifications for constructability, advises Owner and/or project engineer of any deficiencies, and assists in  developing solutions
  •  Reviews project materials, documents, submittals, and schedules
  •  Coordinates on-site compliance testing
  •  Reviews test results for conformity with plans and specifications
  •  Advises Owner, Contractor and project engineer of deficiencies in materials or workmanship and assists in developing solutions
  •  Reviews construction quantities and prepares pay requests, monthly schedules and project correspondence

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management
  • Minimum of 10 years in construction phase services, construction administration or construction management services on municipal projects
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience on FAA Part 139 certificated airport airfield pavement projects
  • Professional Engineer in the state of Texas preferred
  • Current Certified Construction Manager credential from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)
  • Additional certifications from APWA, CMAA, preferred
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of construction means and methods of projects at FAA Part 139 certificated airports and all FAA requirements
  • Company paid travel required
  • May work outside of normal business hours as required for specific projects including weekends and occasional nighttime work
