Overview

The Higher Education Sector Director provides strategic leadership and expertise, driving market growth, profitability, and sector development across the firm. This role involves overseeing team coordination, staffing, training initiatives, and contract management while ensuring quality control and fostering career development for leaders within the sector. The Sector Director is responsible for shaping the sector’s vision, executing strategic goals, and driving performance improvements. This is a full-time, exempt position paid on a salary basis.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development, implementation, and monitoring of sector strategic plan, goals, and targets.
  • Ensures positive financial performance and stability of sector. 
  • Sets sector budgets and allocates financial and staffing resources.
  • Oversees and coordinates staffing levels across the Sector
  • Coordinates all the work of Group Leads.
  • Orchestrates business development and client satisfaction efforts of sector.
  • Provides direction and removes obstacles to ensure successful delivery of sector project portfolio.  
  • Oversees health of sector culture, employee engagement, and team growth and development.
  • Conducts career development and performance reviews of Group Leads.
  • Coordinates and encourages the effective use of Career Development and performance reviews across the Sector.
  • Facilitates relevant and inventive design and knowledge capabilities of sector.

Qualifications

  • Registered Architect in the state of Texas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico with the ability to become registered in all three states is required.
  • At least 10 years of architecture design experience in Community-based or Higher Education projects
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients, subconsultants, public, and co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to organize teams, communicate well and delegate tasks for the betterment of the sector; takes pride in and ownership of sectors’ work.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a marketing team to develop winning proposals and respond to RFQs.
  • Experience at preparing and presenting to potential clients in response to RFPs.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business.
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads to achieve Parkhill`s ambitious growth targets.
  • Exhibits a keen interest in a high standard of quality and accuracy.
  • Inspirational team builder and leader accustomed to managing and mentoring groups across multiple geographic locations.
  • Strong work-ethic with a servant-leadership mentality.
  • Possesses the ability to understand the client’s business model at a very high level and serve as a Trusted Advisor for developing business solutions and resolving technical issues that arise.
