Overview

Parkhill is seeking an Engineering Technologist to independently or with minimal supervision, assist the Engineers in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of engineering principles and design by performing the following duties: Non-routine and complex assignments involving Computer Aided Design (CAD) planning for projects of varying size and scope. This is a full-time, exempt position paid on a salary basis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare AutoCAD Civil 3D layouts for complete drawing packages and assist in selecting and preparing applicable standard details
  • Assist in developing and preparing non-standard and complex design details
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software to support engineering teams
  • Assist engineers with project material quantities for cost estimating
  • Prepare basic layouts of project elements such as site grading designs, roadway alignments, and site survey control systems
  • Understand scope of work, project-specific required CAD Standards, and use good judgment to determine if the drawings will comply with the scope of work, known regulations, and client expectations
  • Work with industry experts to develop permit level and construction level plan sets

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in computer aided design software, or a related field.

    • Or 1+ years of experience in Computer Aided Design.

  • Ideally possess a working knowledge of civil engineering projects.

  • Preferred familiarity with ArcGIS and survey coordinate systems

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Strong spatial skills

  • Possess the ability to adapt and adjust as challenges present themselves.

  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of team members.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team on simultaneous projects.
