Under close supervision, performs routine tasks requiring knowledge of fundamental engineering, mathematical and construction concepts. Assists licensed surveyors in fieldwork, data collection and report preparation, while gaining hands-on experience in surveying techniques and technologies. This is a temporary, non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis.

• Assists with land surveys using GPS, total stations, and other equipment, collecting data on land features, boundaries, and topography. 
• Supports in preparing survey documents, including plats and legal descriptions.
• Assists with fundamental project tasks such as quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
• Assists in collecting field data and test samples.
• Assists in maintaining the technical library.
• Assists in maintaining and calibrating surveying equipment and tools. 
• Performs routine filing and delivery of documents.
• Proficient in the use of computers, computer aided design and other relevant software and hardware tools.

• Student status in Civil Engineering or an appropriate related discipline at an accredited college or university.
