Overview

The Resident Project Representative (RPR) serves as the critical on-site liaison between the owner, architect, contractor, and project team, ensuring that construction activities consistently meet project specifications, quality standards, schedule milestones, and safety regulations. This role supports successful project delivery by monitoring daily construction progress, inspecting work, facilitating effective communication among stakeholders, and promptly resolving issues. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.

Responsibilities

  • Measure distances and verify accuracy of installation dimensions and layouts to ensure compliance with project plans.
  • Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations for quality assurance.
  • Observe ongoing work to confirm procedures and materials conform with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough field checks of materials and equipment to maintain project standards.
  • Record and track quantities of materials received and utilized during project phases.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications to assess constructability and identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with the project engineer to identify deficiencies and proactively develop corrective solutions.
  • Review and manage project-related materials, submittals, documentation, and schedules to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Coordinate on-site compliance testing and review results for conformity with contract documents and standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of construction progress, including photographic evidence and daily written logs.
  • Keep accurate, updated record drawings to reflect construction changes and progress.
  • Verify construction quantities for accuracy and prepare pay requests consistent with contract terms.
  • Utilize computers and relevant software proficiently to support documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Travel as required to project sites, with company-paid expenses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction-related experience, including at least 3 years in project oversight, inspection, or field engineering roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Strong familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and conflict resolution.
  • Keen attention to detail and effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in fast-paced, dynamic construction environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to job sites.
