Overview

The Aviation Senior Civil PE position leads civil engineering design projects from conception through construction by managing planning, permitting, and compliance, while mentoring staff in technical tools like Civil 3D. It also involves client and stakeholder collaboration, risk management, and ensuring designs meet regulatory and environmental standards. This is a full-time, exempt position paid on a salary basis.

Responsibilities

  •  Collaborates with team members to develop proposals, scopes, and fees
  •  Manages the demands of planning and modeling, regulatory compliance, and permitting
  •  Trains/mentors staff on the use of Civil 3D
  •  Reviews project details to proactively manage risk
  •  Evaluates observations and design systems that will withstand the elements on the installation site
  •  Leads design teams in the preparation of plans, specifications, and other related bid/construction documents
  •  Develops relationships with clients, staff, municipal authorities, vendors, and contractors
  •  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Professional engineer registration (PE)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with airport design and construction administration
  • Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars
  • Experience with software including AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required
  • Knowledge of civil engineering practices, principles and keep up with the ever-changing industry trends
  • Detailed understanding of project engineering methods with the ability to lead project design start to finish, taking into account time, cost and resources
  • Possess strategic and effective delegation skills
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and workplace safety regulations
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment with non-Engineer decision makers and be able to communicate plans
