We're seeking a proficient Building Commissioning Lead to oversee all aspects of the commissioning process, leading a team of skilled commissioning professionals, and driving project delivery excellence across multiple building sectors.  The ideal candidate will possess a profound grasp of building systems, exceptional communication abilities, and a fervent dedication to delivering energy-efficient and sustainable solutions. This is a full-time, exempt position paid on a salary basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the commissioning team to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
  • Lead and coordinate the commissioning process for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Oversee the full commissioning process including planning, execution, documentation, and closeout across multiple projects.
  • Act as the primary client interface for commissioning projects, maintaining strong relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Manage resource allocation, scheduling, and team performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans in collaboration with project teams.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of design documents and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers to identify and resolve issues during the construction phase.
  • Perform on-site inspections and functional testing of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and controls.
  • Generate comprehensive commissioning reports documenting findings, issues, and recommended solutions.
  • Provide training to facility staff on the operation and maintenance of building systems.
  • Stay current on industry standards, codes, and best practices related to commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is required. 
  • Professional certifications strongly preferred (e.g. CxA, CBCP, BCxP, PE, LEED AP)
  • Knowledge of the commissioning process for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Great communication skills with internal staff and contractors. 
  • Background knowledge in building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and controls.
  • Travel requirements: 20-30% travel.
