Parkhill is on the lookout for a skilled Project Architect to join our growing Education Practice Team. In this role, you'll be involved in every stage of projects, from initial assessment to final construction. Parkhill is one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the Southwest with 14 offices located throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits and assessments of existing facilities
  • In partnership with Project Manager, conduct meetings with clients to understand their project needs and preferences
  • Develop design concepts and proposals, creating detailed drawings and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering and other consultants as needed based on breadth of project scope
  • Present designs to clients and stakeholders for feedback and approval
  • Lead design team through consistent and appropriate documentation of design intent for ease of communication with Owner and Contractor
  • Explore design concepts utilizing emerging technologies
  • Attend Owner Architect and Contract meetings on site
  • Observe construction and provide direction to follow design intent and institution construction standards

Qualifications

  • Maintain a Registered Architect License in Texas. Prefer licensure in both Texas and Oklahoma
  • Excel in designing spaces that foster learning, collaboration, and safety while considering budgetary restraints
  • Strong time management skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Effective communication skills to allow for seamless collaboration with education, administrators, and consulting teams
  • Proficient in Revit Architecture, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Word & Excel, and Bluebeam. Prefer experience with Miro Board, SketchUp, OneNote, and Enscape
