Overview

The Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM) applies advanced judgment to guide project teams, manage risk, and align stakeholders in demanding delivery environments. This role leads projects requiring heightened coordination and systems integration while maintaining responsibility for successful outcomes aligned with project objectives and firm standards. This is a full-time position paid bi-weekly on an annual salary basis.

Parkhill is one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the Southwest with 14 offices located throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. 

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages projects with elevated coordination requirements and multiple, highly interdependent project elements, maintaining responsibility for project scope, schedule, budget, and fee structure throughout the project lifecycle
  • Establishes and reinforces project vision, goals, priorities, and expectations, ensuring alignment across multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholder groups
  • Facilitates the development, review and approval of fee agreements, contracts and amendments in coordination with project leadership and firm standards
  • Plans and manages project team resources to support projects of increased scale or heightened delivery demands, ensuring staffing aligns with project requirements and timelines
  • Applies advanced judgment to track project performance, proactively identify risks, and resolve issues associated with technically demanding, highly coordinated project conditions
  • Maintains responsibility for project financial performance, including expenses, labor utilization, revenue, billing and accounts receivable
  • Ensures consistent application and reinforcement of Parkhill’s quality assurance and quality control standards across all project phases, particularly on high-visibility or high-impact projects
  • Fosters a high-performing project team environment by providing leadership and thoughtful mentorship to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers
  • Manages client and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle, supporting alignment, trust and successful delivery within complex stakeholder environments
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, construction management, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in project management within the AEC industry, including significant experience leading complex, highly coordinated projects with increasing scale and delivery demands
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of project scope development, budgeting, scheduling, contract management, and overall financial performance
  • Proven ability to manage heightened coordination, risk, and stakeholder complexity, applying advanced judgment to resolve issues in demanding delivery environments
  • Experience planning and managing project team resources for large or high-impact projects, including mentoring and guiding Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers
  • Strong proficiency with project financial and resource planning tools; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint preferred
  • Professional licensure (e.g., PE, RA, RLA, or equivalent) preferred but not required
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent) a plus
