Overview

The Civil Graduate Engineer supports the design and development of civil site development projects under the guidance of licensed engineers. This role provides an opportunity to apply engineering knowledge to real-world infrastructure and land development projects while gaining experience toward professional licensure. This is a full-time position paid bi-weekly on a salary basis.

Parkhill is one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the Southwest with 14 offices located throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of site development design plans, including grading, drainage, paving, and utility layouts
  • Perform basic engineering calculations related to stormwater, earthwork, and utility systems
  • Support the development of construction documents using CAD software (e.g., Civil 3D)
  • Compile and review technical data, reports, and permitting documentation
  • Coordinate with internal teams and disciplines to support project delivery
  • Participate in field visits and site observations to support design validation and construction efforts
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and project documentation
  • Learn and apply applicable codes, standards, and local regulatory requirements
  • Support engineers in responding to client and contractor inquiries
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program
  • EIT obtainable within 6 months of hire
  • Experience in Revit/BIM is preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
